From the Farm
The majority of our fruits and vegetables come directly from farmers. They are sold to us within 24 hours of being harvested. Because our fruits and vegetables are produced locally, they are fresher and taste better than produce which has been shipped for a long period of time. Statistics show that produce purchased in supermarkets may have been shipped from distant states and countries traveling an average of 1,300 miles for as many as 7 to 14 days. When eaten at the height of ripeness, one reaps the benefits of the exceptional flavor and nutrients of the produce.
This may mean that our produce may look a little rugged and not have that perfect shape or color, but try it and taste the difference. We also gain first-hand knowledge about pesticides that may be used by farmers. Our goal is to get as close to organic as we possibly can.
